Vision & Mission

Vision

To pursue health maintenance and promotion through the training of student nurses and midwives who would work with decorum and professionalism to provide effective and efficient client care.

Mission

The College believes

Nursing and midwifery focus on assisting others in providing and managing self-care to maintain or improve human functioning.

The student nurse or midwife should be empowered through consistent training to be able to carry out her core mandate. The student should be equipped with the requisite knowledge theoretically and practically to enable them to render therapeutic care to humanity irrespective of tribe, age, social status, religious and political affiliations.

The purpose of nursing and midwifery education is to enable the student to obtain a qualification that makes him/her eligible for registration by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana and to assume the responsibilities and accountability that Midwifery registration imposes.

The special training that the student receives places him/her in a unique position to adopt the role of a counselor, leader, resource person, teacher, researcher, manager, and caregiver to assist mothers, individuals, families, and society.

Individuals have rights that must be respected. Individuals have basic needs that are components of health and need assistance to achieve health and independence or a peaceful death. We believe that nursing should provide care to the healthy as well as the ill and espouse health promotion.

Objectives

To train young men and women to uphold the ethical and professional standards of Nursing and Midwifery.

To train competent and dedicated nurses and midwives who would espouse health maintenance and promotion.
